Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana unit usaha mikro dan kecil (UMK) di sektor industri kreatif budaya membangun keunggulan bersaing yang berkelanjutan dengan memobilisasi kearifan lokal (local wisdom) sebagai sumber daya strategis. Melalui pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif yang mendalam pada “Batik Tulis XYZ”, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi mekanisme konversi kearifan lokal menjadi keunggulan kompetitif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam dengan pemilik dan pengrajin, serta analisis dokumen. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa keunggulan bersaing “Batik Tulis XYZ” tidak bersumber pada strategi generik biaya atau diferensiasi semata, melainkan pada konfigurasi unik tiga elemen kunci: (1) pemanfaatan kearifan lokal sebagai fondasi nilai dan diferensiasi otentik yang menciptakan keunikan produk dan merek; (2) kapabilitas organisasi yang berbasis pengetahuan tacit (tacit knowledge) para pengrajin, yang memfasilitasi inovasi inkremental dan adaptasi berkelanjutan dalam bingkai tradisi; serta (3) jejaring sosial dan kelembagaan yang tertanam (embeddedness) dalam ekosistem budaya lokal, yang memberikan akses eksklusif, legitimasi, dan kontrol sosial atas kualitas. Studi ini berargumen bahwa keunggulan yang dibangun melalui model ini bersifat kompleks, kontekstual, dan sulit ditiru oleh pesaing, sehingga menciptakan sustained competitive advantage (Barney, 1991). Implikasi penelitian menekankan perlunya perspektif strategis yang lebih holistik dan berbasis sumber daya untuk UMK berbasis budaya, yang melihat kearifan lokal tidak hanya sebagai warisan budaya tetapi sebagai strategic asset yang dapat dikelola dan dikembangkan
